Dr. Lara Cabugawan

Dr. Lara Cabugawan was born and raised in Manila, Philippines, where she developed a lifelong passion for animals and medicine. She earned her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from De La Salle Araneta University (formerly Gregorio Araneta University) in Malabon, Philippines, graduating with distinction and placing 8th nationwide on the Philippine Veterinary Licensure Exam.

After practicing in Manila, Dr. Cabugawan moved to New York and gained extensive hands-on experience at the ASPCA in Manhattan and VCA Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists. Following her New York State licensure, she worked as a per-diem veterinarian across the five boroughs, refining her skills in internal medicine, preventive care, and client education.

Today, Dr. Cabugawan proudly serves as a veterinarian at Union Vet Animal Hospital in Queens, where she provides compassionate, thorough, and personalized care to every pet she treats. She is known for her gentle approach, strong communication with pet owners, and dedication to improving the health and well-being of companion animals.

Outside of work, Dr. Cabugawan enjoys spending time with her family, cooking Filipino cuisine, and exploring New York City.
